Digital Doppelganger
This project aims to truly capture our identities across physical and digital forms using traditional photography, digital art, and advanced AI techniques. By exploring the relationship between our physical and digital self-portraits, we can gain a better understanding of classic photography techniques, and enhance our ability to express ourselves and understand our identities, as well as familiarise ourselves with digital twins.
Project Outcome
In the "Digital Doppelgänger" project, students explored the intersection of physical and digital identities using traditional photography, digital art, and AI techniques. They focused on self-portrait photography as a form of storytelling, while also creating digital avatars that represent their virtual identities. The project examined the evolving role of digital personas in shaping inclusive, expressive futures in the metaverse. Students developed skills in both classic self-portrait photography and AI-driven digital art. Their final work combined a physical and digital self-portrait, accompanied by a creative written piece imagining the worlds where these portraits belong, blending art and technology.
