Creative Sparks: The Impact of TICE This Year
As we wrap up the 2024–25 academic year, we’re celebrating the creative journeys, bold ideas, and unforgettable outcomes that have shaped this year’s TICE projects.
From fashion and photography to sound design and storytelling, this year’s young creatives have explored what it means to express, reflect, challenge, and innovate — all while discovering more about themselves and the creative industries they may one day join.
Standout Projects from 2024–25
Beyond the Buy
A fashion project exploring personal style and conscious consumerism
“I loved this project because I felt it allowed me to express my own opinions and show my style.”
— Student, Durham School
Students used what they already owned to style and capture fashion reels, addressing overconsumption while redefining what it means to dress with intention.
Ready, Player, Start
An audio project diving into video game composition and immersive storytelling
“I have completed my first ever composition — which has been a goal of mine for a while.”
— Student, Marden High School
For many, it was their first time composing original music — digitally crafting soundscapes to bring cinematic cutscenes to life.
Circus Act
A fashion design journey inspired by the magical allure of the circus
“I feel more confident in doing art and textiles... this project has given me an AMAZING taster of what studying fashion would be like.”
— Student, St Mary’s Catholic School
From maximalist moodboards to theatrical silhouettes, this project celebrated individuality, performance, and creative confidence.
Plantopia
An AI-meets-nature design project focused on graphic storytelling
“Seeing how you can mix plants and AI together was really fun...”
— Student, St Mary’s Catholic School
Students explored bio-design, AI experimentation, and nature-inspired t-shirt graphics in a collision of tech and ecology.
Savouring Simplicity
A film project exploring creative rest and moments of stillness
“I think I have gained a lot of skills and learnt how to use different platforms for content creation.”
— Student, Durham School
One-minute films captured quietness, pause, and reflection — reminding us that idleness can be the birthplace of creativity.
Time Keepers
A fine art photography project examining how we perceive time
“I now understand the process in developing a final image and research, which will be useful in my GCSE photography.”
— Student, Durham School
Students created a single photographic image that distorted, paused, or questioned time — often with powerful emotional undertones.
Sounds of Self
A sound project blending wellbeing and audio production
“I’ve learnt what it’s like to be a composer in normal music, as well as video game music.”
— Student, Marden High School
Students used field recordings, digital layering, and personal reflection to build their own “sound of calm.”
Dream Diaries
A textile and illustration project based on dream interpretation
“Learning to crochet was SO rewarding... I’ve had so many mini crochet projects since.”
— Student, Marden High School
From surreal dream journals to crochet accessories and embroidered symbols, this project turned inner worlds into tactile creativity.
Melodies Without Borders
A global songwriting project blending rhythm, culture, and storytelling
“This has helped me open up my creativity and write songs that are more personal to me.”
— Student, North Tyneside
Students wrote, composed, and recorded original songs that reflected cultural fusion and emotional connection — ready to pitch to real artists.
See It Live at TICE Fest
All of these brilliant projects will be showcased at TICE Fest 2025 on 11th & 12th November, where we’ll celebrate the vision, thought, and effort behind every submission. TICE Stars will be featured in our gallery space, and industry professionals will get to see the next generation of creative minds up close.
Final Thoughts
The creative energy from this year has been unstoppable. Whether discovering a new passion or refining their creative voice, these students reminded us what’s possible when you combine support, curiosity, and imagination.
Thank you to every student, school, mentor, and supporter who made this year what it was — full of sparks, stories, and seriously good work.
